Anti Snoring Product - Twin Pack
For every legitimate anti snoring device on the market there are a handful of fly by night products that probably do more harm than good. While consumers should, by all means, do extensive research before investing in anti snoring products, they should also be wary of the snoring myths that float around in cyberspace.
A few of the more obvious snoring myths out there include the following:
- Aside from the irritation factor, snoring is harmless: While
some individuals may continue to snore uninterrupted for the rest of their
lives and suffer no ill consequences, this is not always the case. Snoring
is often a symptom of obstructive sleep apnea, which is extremely damaging
to the health of the sufferer and often occurs alongside daytime fatigue.
Doctors have found that patients who present with daytime fatigue are
often sleep apnea sufferers who live alone and, as such, are blissfully
unaware of their night time noises.
- Alcohol makes you sleep better: This couldn't be any
farther from the truth. Alcohol should never be used as a sedative. Although
the effects thereof simulate sedation, alcohol as a substance prevents
the type of deep sleep required for true rest. It also increases the likelihood
of snoring and, as such, further impedes the REM sleep cycle.
- The older you get the less sleep you need: The optimal
amount of sleep for adult individuals has been noted as between seven
and eight hours per night. Although elderly people tend to wake up more
frequently throughout the course of the evening and generally get up earlier
they still require the same amount of rest.
As you can see there is a lot of erroneous information doing the rounds
with regard to sleep and snoring. If you suspect that your snoring problem
might be interfering with your sleeping patterns it is recommended that
you consult a qualified physician. Also, please do not hesitate to contact
us directly if you wish to learn more with regard to the functioning of
the SnoreMate anti
snore mouthpiece.
* Please Note: SnoreMate is only suitable for adults. It is not recommended for those who wear braces or dentures or have any nasal obstruction. If you suspect that you may suffer from Obstructive Sleep Apnea, please consult your physician before attempting to use a Mandibular Advancement Device.
